Though we have yet to see much of him, Colton Haynes has been promoted to series regular for Arrow season 2.

Colton Haynes’ character Roy Harper has only appeared in one episode so far, but The CW obviously must like what they’ve seen from him in his episodes that have yet to air enough to make him an Arrow season 2 regular. Haynes only appeared briefly in his introduction episode “Dodger,” but he’ll be back in the next two episodes “The Huntress Returns” and “Salvation,” which air March 20 and 27, respectively.

We’re not surprised at all to see Haynes get the promotion, though we wouldn’t have guessed that it’d happen this early. Haynes surely would never have left Teen Wolf if he wouldn’t acquire a role that’s at least as good. Odds are that he was guaranteed a season 2 promotion when he signed on. If not, anyone could have guessed that Roy Harper would end up as a prominent Arrow character. Throughout the Green Arrow comics, Roy Harper has taken the roles of Speedy, Arsenal, and Red Arrow at different times.

One month ago today Emily Bett Rickards was also upgraded to series regular for Arrow season 2. Her character Felicity Smoak was only intended to appear in an episode or two, but Felicity quickly became a fan favorite and Rickards was rewarded.
