Another actor is joining Saving Mr. Banks, the true story behind the making of Mary Poppins.

Colin Farrell is now in discussions to join the cast of Saving Mr. BanksDeadline announced that Tom Hanks will be portraying Walt Disney and Streep will be P.L. Travers, who was the author of the original Mary Poppins books. The film would tell the tale of how “Walt Disney waged a 14-year courtship to persuade Australian author P.L. Travers to sell him rights to make a film out of Mary Poppins.” After the movie was made, Travers hated how the film was created and she did not sell any more rights to her film.

Farrell is rumored to star as Travers’ father, who was the inspiration for Mr. Banks in the Mary Poppins story. Mr. Travers died when P.L. Travers was only seven years old.
