Disney has listened to fans and will get rid of the unpopular, Frozen-centric animated short that plays in front of Coco.

The animated shorts that play in front of Pixar films are usually equally as buzzworthy as the films themselves. Well, that was definitely the case with Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, but it was getting buzz for all the wrong reasons.

The short was a ridiculous 22 minutes long, and largely served as a shameless ad for Frozen 2. Pixar fans were outraged that they had to sit through almost a half-hour Disney ad before the movie that they’d paid to see even began.

Well, Mashable reports that Disney has heard the outcry, and that beginning Dec. 8, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will no longer be a part of the Coco experience.

What makes this news even better is that Disney has also requested that theaters use the extra time for more screenings of Coco!

Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson learned for future Disney/Pixar collaborations. The Pixar original animated shorts are so good that it’s a shame to miss an opportunity for one by substituting in a glorified trailer. Unfortunately, the opportunity for an original short has already been missed with Coco, as there will almost certainly be no short to replace Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.

Have you seen ‘Coco’? Did you like ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’?
