Cobra Kai season 4 is gearing up to welcome yet another familiar face to its growing cast of returning Karate Kid alums.

On Thursday (May 27), Netflix announced that actor Thomas Ian Griffith is gearing up to reprise his role of Terry Silver in Cobra Kai season 4.

For the uninitiated, Terry Silver is an old friend of Johnny’s old sensei, John Kreese— in fact, Silver and Kreese’s friendship goes back to their days serving together in the military. Silver also happens to be one of the original co-founders of Cobra Kai.

The last we saw of Terry Silver was in The Karate Kid III when he lured Daniel LaRusso over to Cobra Kai. His master plan was to train him to compete under the dojo’s name in an effort to recoup some of the dojo’s street credit at the All Valley Tournament.

It’s Silver’s thwarted plans that eventually lead to the dojo getting shut down for the next three decades. And in an all new teaser trailer that announces actor Thomas Ian Griffith’s return to the franchise, we get our first clue to the idea that Silver’s still clearly got a bone to pick with LaRusso.

In a statement announcing today’s exciting news, show runners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg said:

“Since the beginning of the series, we’ve been carefully orchestrating the right moment to unleash Cobra Kai dojo co-founder Terry Silver back into the universe. That moment is now. We can’t wait for the whole world to experience Thomas Ian Griffith’s majestic return to the franchise.”

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Cobra Kai season 4 premiere via Netflix.
