Cobie Smulders is returning to network television.

According to The Wrap, How I Met Your Mother alumn Cobie Smulders has officially signed on to star in a new ABC pilot.

Titled Stumptown, the upcoming drama comes from Jason Richman and is set to be executive produced by Ruben Fleischer, who recently helmed 2018’s Venom.

Other executive producers on the pilot include Dave Bernad, Greg Rucka, Matthew Southworth, and Justin Greenwood.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Stumptown focuses on an army veteran named Der Parios, who lives in Portland and works as a P.I. Dex comes with her own personal baggage, but she’s more focused on solving other people’s messes than working on herself.

Smulders, who is no stranger to stepping into the world of comics, will play Dex in the upcoming pilot. Her character is described as “strong, assertive, and unapologetically sharp-witted.”

Prior to joining the cast of Stumptown, Smulders was featured as part of the ensemble cast of Netflix’s Friends from College.

The drama, which focused on the interwoven lives of six Harvard grads, recently got the axe after just two seasons.

With that in mind, we’re sure fans of Smulders will be happy to know she won’t be straying far from the small screen.

Currently, you can catch Smulders in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, where the actress lends her voice to the character of Wonder Woman. She’s also slated to reprise her role as Maria Hill in Spider-Man: Far From Home, due out later this summer.
