Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 is on its way into theaters and we got our first look at the food Flint and the gang will be up against this time around. We’ll tell you one thing — this food bites back.
Last time we saw the Cloudy crew, they had just won a weather war against a machine that made it rain much more than meatballs all over the town of Swallow Falls.
This time around our protagonist (voiced by Bill Hader), Flint Lockwood finds out that his machine has malfunctioned again and is now creating food-animal hybrids, or “foodimals.”

In addition to returning characters like Sam Sparks (Anna Farris) and Officer Devereaux (Mr. T), we meet the latest creations from Flint’s food machine.
The sequel picks up right where the original left off.
Flint is now doing his dream job, working at tech company Live Corp for his idol, Chester V. The company is in charge of the clean-up of Swallow Falls after the events of the first film. When he gets back to the island, he is greeted by some fascinating creatures.
We have everything from watermelonphants and shrimpanzees to cheesespiders and the terrifying tacodile. Basically, the follow-up to 2009’s animated hit is like Jungle Cruise on crack.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs made over $243 million worldwide at the box office. In addition to Hader, Farris, and Mr.T, voice talents included Neil Patrick Harris, James Caan, and Bruce Campbell.
Will Forte lends his voice to the sequel, playing Live Corp CEO Chester V.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is set to hit theaters on Sept. 27.
