The long under-wraps production from Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) and Twyker (Run Lola Run) has finally received a release date.

The Man Brooker Prize finalist written by David Mitchell chronicles a reluctant voyager traveling the Pacific in 1850, a composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilization. Their paths inevitably intertwine in a genre-bending fashion, dealing with themes of reincarnation with dystopian undertones.

The Wachowskis are undoubtedly the ones to do it, but such a unique film must still be hard to release in a timely fashion. Nonetheless, Warner Bros. has set a release date for October 26 of this year, the same week the new Alex Cross adaption hits the big screen as well as Silent Hill: Revelation. The October release date separates it considerably from the surplus of horror movies hitting theaters within that time frame.
