The trailer for The Girl in the Spider’s Web shows us Claire Foy like we’ve never seen her before, and she’s totally kick ass.

While many of us are most familiar with Claire Foy’s work on Netflix’s The Crown, she’s an incredibly talented actor with a pretty surprising range. To prove just that, Foy is making a huge departure from her role as the Queen of England to play the infamous hacker and protector of women (or, at least, the woman who hurts men who hurt women), Lisbeth Salander.

In the first trailer for the new film, we see Foy as a badass, tattooed, leather-clad Lisbeth, sneaking into a home to stop a man who has been beating his wife. In classic Lisbeth style, she manages to shut the husband down completely while also making sure his wife and child are financially taken care of and safe. Take a look at the trailer to see Foy in action as the incomparable Lisbeth Salander.

Not only do we see a bit of Lisbeth Salandar-style justice in the trailer, but we also see her interacting with a woman she was, apparently, unable to save. As the trailer promises, the past never forgets, and Lisbeth will have to face up to her own past and attempt to right those wrongs. But, of course, there is also going to be plenty of heart-pounding action and adventure in the midst of the intrigue, and we are here for it!

The Girl in the Spider’s Web marks a bit of a fresh start for the franchise. The film based on a book by David Lagercrantz, the author who took over after the original author, Stieg Larsson passed away. Additionally, Foy is taking over the role after Rooney Mara played the character in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo back in 2011.

Though the David Fincher-helmed film underperformed at the box office, fans are still pretty loyal to the 2011 film. It will be interesting to see how fans react to The Girl in the Spider’s Web, as well as Claire Foy taking over the role of Lisbeth Salander. The film releases in theaters on November 9, 2018.
