Get ready to have all your illusions about Cinderella shattered, as CinemaSins breaks down everything wrong with the Walt Disney Classic.

Bippity boppity boo… it’s time for a new Cinderella movie! Disney’s live-action version of the classic fairytale is out later this month, and from everything we’ve seen so far, it looks like we’ll get the exact same story we know and love, repackaged for a modern audience.

But do we really love Cinderella? Let’s let CinemaSins convince us of everything that’s wrong with the 1950 animation feature:

Of course trying to hold a cartoon accountable for realism is like judging a fish on its ability to fly, so some of these sins don’t really hold… well, water.

But it’s still amusing to see the movie broken down like this. And the point about the mouse plot taking over the movie is actually solid.

Cinderella, as a main female protagonist, simply doesn’t have story (and personality) enough to fill out the whole movie, so Disney felt the need to add a whole new, action-driven story – with male protagonists.

Oh, the 1950s. “Leave the sowing to the women,” indeed. The good old days when the only way of identifying your one true love was by the size of her feet.

Also, #ClockBlock might be our favorite new thing. It’s a surprisingly common plot device in fairytales.
