Sony’s Cinderella adaptation starring Camila Cabello has added Missy Elliot, Minnie Driver, John Mulaney, James Corden and Romesh Ranganathan.

The upcoming Cinderella adaptation is adding some pretty talented members to its already star-studded cast.

Deadline reports that the musical comedy film will be adding five-time Grammy Award-winning rapper/producer Missy Elliot, Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Minnie Driver, Two-time Emmy winner John Mulaney, nine-time Emmy winner James Corden and British stand-up star Romesh Ranganathan.

Minnie Driver is set to play Queen Beatrice, Missy Elliot the town crier, and John Mulaney, James Corden and Romesh Ranganathan all set to play Cinderella’s mice turned footmen.

The five new cast members will join the previously announced cast of Camila Cabello as Cinderella, British actor Nicholas Galitzine as the charming Prince Robert, Pierce Brosnan as the King, Idina Menzel as Cinderella’s evil stepmother Evelyn, and Billy Porter as the Fairy Godmother.

Cinderella will be directed by Pitch Perfect writer and Blockers director Kay Cannon.

The film won’t be a direct live-action adaptation in the tradition of Disney’s slew of films, but has rather been billed as a musical comedy re-imagining of the traditional Cinderella story in which Camila Cabello’s title character is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow.

Grammy-nominated singer Camila Cabello will be making her acting debut in the feature, and will not just be starring in it, but has been described as being “integrally involved in the music for the film,” according to an early report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans of the upcoming re-imagining will have late-night host James Corden to thank for the the film, as the idea for a new take on the classic story originally came from him.

The movie is set to begin filming this Thursday, and will be released in theaters nationwide on February 5, 2021.
