Christopher Nolan has long said that The Dark Knight Rises would be the final Batman film he’d direct, and for those who have held out hope he may return to the Caped Crusader in a Justice League movie, Nolan has shot down those speculations as well.

Speaking with EW on the possibility of directing a Justice League film, Nolan was adamant about his planned departure from the comic book hero:

I’ve got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project.

When pressed with the question about any further involvement with the character, Nolan added:

No, none at all. We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.

Of course, there were those who had hoped Nolan may even stick around for a producing role on any subsequent films, similarly to what he’s done with Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel. WB certainly would like to entertain this possibility, as any mention of Nolan and Batman is sure to guarantee a small fortune for all those involved. However, Nolan seems eager to distance himself from the character he’s done so much to propel to the top of pop culture’s consciousness.

Now you let your voice be heard. Are you pleased with this news?
