Saturday Night Live season 40, episode 5 featured SNL alum Chris Rock and a nine-minute musical performance by the legendary icon Prince.

Rock opened with a rather controversial stand-up comedy bit where he made jabs at 9/11, the Boston Marathon and Ebola, among other things. Today, some people are taking his comedy to be a little too offensive for their taste — even 13 years after 9/11.

Some hardcore SNL fans may have been wondering what new cast member Pete Davidson had to say about the opening. Davidson’s father was a firefighter killed on 9/11. Davidson later made a joke about his father in his Weekend Update piece:

Later in the episode SNL spoofed the terror organization ISIS as they tried to sell the organization to the judges of Shark Tank. The sketch had potential but might have fallen flat.

One of the digital shorts of the night focused on the fact that a lot of people hate to admit they like Taylor Swift and her latest music. Swift has a new album out titled 1989, and has had a big hit with her song “Shake It Off.” Do you want to get your own dose of Swiftamine?
