Dream team Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence are coming together for a movie called Passengers and today we’re getting our first look at the duo in their roles.

The synopsis for Passengers reads, “The spaceship, Starship Avalon, on its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as the “Homestead Colony” and transporting 5,259 people has a malfunction in two of its sleep chambers. As a result, two hibernation pods open prematurely and the two people that awoke are stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from their destination.”

EW were lucky enough to reveal our first look at the movie, which you can see below.

EW also sat down with Director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game), who said, “Every generation has its love story. I feel like this is it.”

Speaking to Pratt and Jennifer’s performances, he also describes their on-set chemistry and says they both came up with plenty of jokes and gags to try on set. The movie is funny — how could it not be with these two phenomenal actors — but it’s also dramatic and heartwarming.

“You will laugh and cry and hold your breath and be at the edge of your seat,” he says. “It has chills. It also will make you smile and laugh a lot.”

The screenplay was written by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, Doctor Strange) and also stars Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, and Aurora Perrineau. It will be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Those who were lucky enough to attend CinemaCon got to see some footage, but the film’s trailer has yet to land online.

‘Passengers’ lands in theatres on December 21, 2016
