Chris Pine could soon be starring in a live action big screen adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons.

A live action adaptation of the hit roleplaying game, Dungeons & Dragons has been in the works for quite some time, but now it’s looking like a film might finally be making its way onto the big screen. What’s more, the adaptation may have just found its star.

According to Deadline, actor Chris Pine is currently in talks to star in Hasbro, eOne, and Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons movie.

Behind the camera, the adaptation is set to be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who are also teaming to write the script for the adaptation. Goldstein and Daley are no strangers to working together. Most recently, the duo teamed to write the scripts for such titles as Game Night and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

This isn’t the first time a Dungeons and Dragons adaptation has tried to get off the ground out in Hollywood.

In fact, back in 2015 it was announce that Hasbro and Warner Brothers were working on adapting the massively popular game for the big screen. For a time, Ansel Elgort was even attached to star in the Warner Bros., adaptation which eventually fizzled out before losing steam altogether.

Here’s hoping that Hasbro, eOne, and Paramount will have better luck!

Dungeons & Dragons aside, Chris Pine fans can catch the actor next in Wonder Woman 1984. The highly anticipated sequel hits HBO Max on Christmas Day.
