The three time Black-Listed Hollywood screenwriter has been hired by Marvel to do a re-working of Nicole Perlman’s widely accepted Guardians of the Galaxy script.

Many were surprised by Marvel’s decision to greenlight the nigh-unheard of Guardians of the Galaxy for their second 2014 film, but word from Latino-Review had the incredible screenplay pegged as the reason why it would be moving forward.

Apparently it still needed a few changes, because according to THR, triple black-listed screenwriter Chris McCoy (Get Back, Good Looking, and Good Kids) has been called to rewrite the Nicole Perlman’s original script.

Nothing to fear, some of the best films in the business have had more than a few pairs of eyes go over a single script (sometimes films that are completely overhauled still end up being masterpieces), but it may be safe to say that the film is still headed in the same direction given McCoy’s penchant for writing quirky and funny films.

What do you think? Excited to hear the hilarity fly from Rocket Raccoon’s mouth?
