Glee‘s Chris Colfer, who also happens to be a prolific author, has signed a deal to end his Land of Stories series at five novels, as well as pen some other books.

Colfer’s Land of Stories books have received acclaim from both younger and older readers. The first three books, The Wishing Spell, The Enchantress Returns, and A Grimm Warning, have already been published, with the fourth, currently untitled, book out on July 7, 2015.

According to the publisher (via THR), Colfer will end his Land of Stories series at five books. Presumably, the fifth book will debut in the summer of 2016.

Even though we’ll be sad to see the Land of Stories series ending, there are plenty of tie-in books to keep us busy both before and after that final book hits shelves.

Queen Red Riding Hood’s Guide to Royalty and The Mother Goose Diaries follow two of our favorite characters in their own companion novels, set to be published in a box set in late 2015.

Around the same time, Colfer will be releasing his first picture book, illustrated by Brandon Dorman, named The Curvy Tree, which fans will know is an important story to both the main characters, Alex and Connor.

In 2016, Colfer will be releasing another picture book, this one following the character Trollbella, who has a bit of a fascination with one Connor Bailey. Younger fans are sure to enjoy both of these installations.

But the fun doesn’t end there, folks. Colfer will be returning to his YA roots — his previous foray having been Struck by Lightning — with a new book following a young actor who goes off on a road trip with a few of his fans. Although the novel has not yet been named and we have no further details, we’re certainly interested to see if it’ll be as captivating and moving as Struck By Lightning.

Speaking of Struck By Lightning, since it got its own movie adaptation, we can only hope that a Land of Stories movie is on the way. After all, Colfer has said he’s open to the idea.

Are you bummed ‘Land of Stories’ will be ending after 5 books?
