The cast of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again just added a huge name to its cast in the form of Cher.

According to Entertainment Weekly, iconic singer and actress Cher has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Mamma Mia! sequel.

Though the singer’s involvement wasn’t confirmed until Monday (October 16), Cher fans who keep a close eye on the singers’ Twitter account undoubtedly noticed that she’s been dropping clues of her forthcoming big screen role all weekend.

The artist started hinting at her Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again role on Saturday (October 14) when she posted a photo of some seriously amazing silver platform boots set against what looks to be a feather boa.

Though the singer didn’t caption the photo with more details, she followed things up by tweeting about an unspecified dance rehearsal.

“Just went through two dance numbers,” wrote Cher. “Everyone’s Great.”

Finally, the singer dropped the biggest hint of all when she posted a pair of tweets featuring one of ABBA’s biggest hits.

“FERNANDO,” she wrote along with the thinking face emoji.

The singer followed that up with an epic line from the song in question.

“THE ROAR OF GUNS & CANNONS ALMOST MADE ME CRY.”

The Oscar winner’s involvement in the upcoming sequel is exciting for a few reasons. For one, it marks the artist’s first big screen role since she starred opposite Christina Aguilera in 2010’s Burlesque.

Additionally, it serves as a reunion for her and Meryl Streep, who will reprise her role as Donna in the sequel. The pair previously worked together in 1983’s Silkwood, which earned both actresses Academy Award nods.

Unfortunately, fans hoping to get more of an insight as to who she’ll will play in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again will have to sit tight. It looks like director Ol Parker is keeping her role details under wraps for now.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again hits theaters on July 20, 2018.
