Comedian Chelsea Handler signed a deal with Netflix over a year ago to launch a talk show on the streaming website — Netflix’s first. So what’s the latest? Today we learned more about her plans.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association’s summer session on Tuesday, Handler revealed that she plans to shoot and release at least two episodes of her talk show per week. The episodes will be released about 48 hours after taping, potentially meaning they won’t be entirely topical like network talk shows are (which tape and release on the same day).

The reason for the delay between taping and release is unclear. Handler may want to edit each episode a good amount, and/or Netflix may need a lot of time to get each episode onto their servers.

Handler, who left her job at E! last year, also revealed she had been invited to take over a network talk show, but Netflix sounded like a much more interesting opportunity to her. “I was not interested in going to a network,” she said, “I was never interested in taking someone else’s job.”

Her talk show will premiere sometime in 2016.

It’ll be interesting to see how viewers respond to this couple-of-times-a-week schedule for her talk show. Is about two episodes a week enough to keep her fans tuning in for every episode? Or will they demand more, like a daily talk show seen on a major broadcast network?

Netflix and Handler also announced the comedian’s new documentary series today called Chelsea Does. The series consists of four documentaries “that feature Chelsea Handler exploring topics of personal fascination: marriage, racism, technology and drugs.”
