The CW has a couple of reboots up its sleeves, but it’s going to be a little bit longer than expected before we get to see them.

We’re pretty excited about the Charmed reboot over here at Hypable. Just check out some of our must-have moments for the new series. And though it’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything about Lost Boys, now we have an update on both shows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW’s plate was just a little too full this year to include both shows. They’ve ordered six pilots, including Life Sentence, Searchers, Black Lightning, Dynasty, Insatiable, and Valor.

But don’t worry! The CW is still planning on ordering pilots for both reboots, but they’re going to wait until next year. This is probably a smart idea, considering their slate is awfully full at the moment. The CW does such a good job knowing what its audience wants, I’d hate to see them overload themselves and produce less than quality content.

This appears to be part of the reason for the delay with Charmed, too. Jenny Snyder Urman has been a little too busy finishing off Jane the Virgin season 3 and hasn’t been able to commit enough time to the pilot. The CW decided it would rather wait a year and try again when Urman had some more time to fix up the script.

And, hey, if I have to wait another year before Charmed is back on my screen because they want to get it right, then I’m sure I can find a secret reservoir of patience.

Same goes for The Lost Boys, as Rob Thomas will be finishing up iZombie season 3 before he gets to work on the reboot.
