Witness her: After her glorious introduction in Mad Max: Fury Road, Charlize Theron is up for bringing Imperator Furiosa back for another ride.

With Monster, Fury Road and now Atomic Blonde, it’s safe to say that Charlize Theron is the ultimate hard-edged, gritty action heroine.

She’s not afraid to give herself to her roles completely and get her hands — and every other part of her — bruised and bloody, which is what makes her characters so raw and unforgettable.

And lucky for us, she’s also not afraid of re-treading old ground, telling Variety that she’d “love to” revisit the hugely popular role of Furiosa for a Fury Road prequel movie, if director George Miller ever feels so inclined.

“There were three scripts. They were written as back stories to Max’s character and to Furiosa’s character,” says Theron. “But at the end of the day, this thing lives and breathes with [director] George [Miller]. I think Warner Bros. knows that. We are all waiting for him to show us the way.”

Miller has previously expressed interest in doing a Furiosa-centric prequel, but wanted to do something smaller and more contemporary first, following the immense task that was Mad Max: Fury Road.

“She’s a pretty compelling character, so it’d be great to tell her story,” Miller told Entertainment Weekly in early 2016. “Her backstory is pretty interesting… You have a sense of her having gone through stuff, that’s what the movie is trying to do. You know, you’re trying to put a lot of iceberg under the tip, I like saying.”

A sequel to Fury Road, titled Mad Max: The Wasteland is reportedly in development, with Tom Hardy back in the lead role.

If you’re craving more Furiosa, you’ll be happy to learn that the role did in parts inspire Theron’s performance in the gritty, R-rated spy thriller Atomic Blonde, which hits theaters on July 28.
