“Boom Clap” singer Charli XCX has released a new music video for her summer bop, “Boys,” and you won’t want to miss it! Watch it below!

When it comes to music videos, it’s not uncommon to see women striking sultry poses, but what if the roles were reversed and it was the men being sexualized? That’s exactly what goes down in Charli XCX’s brand new music video for “Boys.”

The clever video, which was directed by the pop star herself, is jam-packed with famous men of all sorts.

From recording artists like Joe Jonas and Panic at the Disco’s Brendan Urie, to movie stars like Riz Ahmed, and social media influencers like Cameron Dallas and Caspar Lee, it’s actually quite impressive to see how many guys Charli XCX was able to pack into one music video.

As enjoyable as the music video is, Charli had a great reason for following through with the vision. The pop star, who recently spoke with BBC Radio 1, explained that the idea to have boys do all the sexy things girls usually do in music videos came to her while she was listening to her new single in the car.

“I was just thinking about Joe Jonas being really sexy eating food, which was kind of a weird combo, but I was like, ‘Wait, this could be an idea,’” Charli told BBC Radio 1.

From there, the singer said she started thinking about all of the guys she’s worked with over the years she’s been making music that she might be able to persuade into being in the video for her new single.

“I was like, ‘OK, I feel like I can harass enough of them into doing this video,’” continued the singer. “Basically started sending them all these ideas and was like, ‘Look, I want to make this video, I’m directing it, I’m not in it. I want to flip the male gaze on its head, and have you guys do the sexy stuff.’ And they were all super down, and they got right on board, and it was amazing.”
