Recording artist and Glee guest star Charice has come out as a gay woman.

Charice, who appeared in a brief stint on Glee in season 3 as Sunshine Corozon, has come out as a gay woman in an interview with The Buzz.

“Yes I’m a lesbian,” Charice added. “I don’t see a problem with that, because for me there isn’t a problem. Now, I would like to ask for forgiveness from the people that don’t understand.”

Charice also mentioned that she decided to come out in her home country because she felt that she owed them the right to know about who she is first.

Just last month, Charice’s mother gave her “permission” to come out as a lesbian but no official word had been released from Charice until now.

Glee fans will surely be supportive of the international pop superstar’s big news.

Charice even made a special message for her fans who support her in the following video:

“I just want to say thank you, personally, to all my fans. To all the people who are still supporting me. Who are still there for me. And obviously I am very very happy. I can’t explain how happy I am right now hearing all the positive things. I promise you guys that I will come back and, I will see you guys again. I miss you all so much. I love you all.”

We applaud Charice’s courage to come out to her fans at such a young age! What are your thoughts about Charice’s big announcement?
