Channing Tatum will star in his most prestigious film yet when he, Tilda Swinton, and Ralph Fiennes join George Clooney in the Coen brothers’ Hail, Caesar!.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, and Ralph Fiennes will be joining the cast of the Coen brothers’ next movie, Hail, Caesar!. George Clooney and Josh Brolin were previously cast in the film.

Hail, Caesar! will tell the story of Eddie Mannix, a ’50s Hollywood “fixer,” a man who worked for Hollywood studios to clean up their stars’ scandals. The movie is said to be a comedy in the likes of previous Coen brothers films O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Burn After Reading.

Like all of the movies by the Coen brothers, Hail, Caesar! will include a cast of unique characters. It’s assumed (but not confirmed) that Clooney will take the lead role as Mannix. THR says that Tatum’s role will be of a Gene Kelly-like star, Fiennes would play Laurence Lorenz, a studio director, and Swinton would play the role of a Hollywood gossip columnist with power. It’s not known who Brolin will be playing.

Tatum starring in a movie written and directed by the Coen brothers is a big step up (no pun intended) in his career. They’re certainly the filmmakers with the most awards season clout. Apart from working with the great Steven Soderbergh, Tatum hasn’t had much work with many prestigious actors. If we had to make a guess, we’d guess Tatum will play a goofy character similar to Brad Pitt’s Burn After Reading character. Tatum has proven himself to be an adept comedic actor when playing an oblivious character in 21 and 22 Jump Street, and one would assume he’d bring those talents to be explored even further by the Coens.

Starring in potentially prestigious movies is nothing new for Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes. Swinton is a former Oscar winner for her role in the 2007 film Michael Clayton. She starred alongside her new Hail, Caesar! co-star George Clooney in that film. Fiennes starred in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel earlier this year, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get a best actor nod at this year’s Oscars.
