Celine Dion is heading to the big screen, but not in the way you might expect.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Quebec director Marc-Andre Lavoie is gearing up to helm a Celine Dion biopic.

Titled Celine Before Celine, the upcoming film will set out to tell the story of the iconic singer’s family upbringing and life before she became a global superstar.

Lavoie will be teaming up with Adrien Bodson on the project. Bodson, who last worked with Lavoie on the Quebec comedy Innocent will serve as producer on the upcoming biopic.

Celine Before Celine is keeping things in the family when it comes to the script. Penning the script for the upcoming biopic is none other than Jimmy Dion. Dion is the son of the singer’s brother, Jacques.

Interestingly, Celine Before Celine isn’t the only Dion film currently in the works.

Just last month, it was announced that French studio Gaumont was working on their own Dion flick called The Power of Love.

Unlike Celine Before Celine, The Power of Love won’t be a biopic. Instead the film (which is set for a 2020 release) is being billed as a fictional “homage” that draws inspiration from Dion’s life and features many of her hit songs.

Celine Before Celine is set to begin production sometime in 2020.
