One Day at a Time vets Debby Wolfe and Gloria Calderon Kellett are making their way over to CBS for their next endeavor.

Deadline reports that CBS is moving forward with developing a brand new multi-camera family sitcom which will be spearheaded by Debby Wolfe and Gloria Calderon Kellett.

Both women currently work on Netflix’s insanely popular One Day at a Time. Wolf is a writer for the rebooted series while Kellett serves as the show’s co-creator/executive producer/co-showrunner.

As with One Day at a Time, Wolfe and Kellett’s new series will center on a Latinx family.

Titled Just Like Us, the new series tells the story of a widower who takes in his teenage El Salvadorian niece.

It’s clear the main character is about to have a lot on his plate. On top of his new charge, he’s also still raising his two grown daughters, taking care of his retired parents, and trying to run the family restaurant — all of which he used to do with his late wife.

We’re sure Just Like Us is bound to have many moving parts, but if it’s anything like One Day at a Time, it’s only a matter of time before we fall in love with the brand new CBS series.

There’s no word yet on when we can expect the new series to make its way to air.

In the meantime, fans of Wolfe and Kellett’s work have plenty to get excited about, especially now that production on One Day at a Time season 3 is in full swing.

Though the cast and crew is keeping finer plot details under wraps, we’ve gotten plenty of little tidbits about what’s coming up for the Alvarez family thanks to a few season 3 casting announcements.

New episodes of One Day at a Time are expected to premiere via Netflix sometime next year.
