Cate Blanchett is the focus of the new Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies poster released today as the elegant Galadriel.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies promotion is rolling in daily for the final Hobbit film, with Martin Freeman as Bilbo for the film Monday, and Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf yesterday.

Today we have a new character poster from the film, and it features Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett as Galadriel. Check out the film’s new poster below:

Cate Blanchett plays the ethereal elven princess Galadriel in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, a role she also played beautifully in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

This new poster shows a an interesting look at Galadriel, similar to Gandalf’s poster which seemed somewhat dark and intense. This could be hinting towards the dark battle that Gandalf, Bilbo, and the dwarves are headed towards in the final Hobbit film.

We’re very excited to see what the aftermath of Smaug’s Laketown attack looks like, and the Battle of the Five Armies, which refers to the film’s final fight between the Goblins and the Wargs against the Men of Dale, the Elves, the Dwarves, the Eagles and a Shape-shifter we saw in The Desolation of Smaug.

Look for additional character posters to be released daily over the next few weeks as we approach The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies December 17 release date.
