Numerous actors and actresses have tweeted their feelings following the tragic death of their Hunger Games co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Oscar-winning actor joined the dystopian franchise when he was cast in Catching Fire as game maker and secret rebellion planner Plutarch Heavensbee.

Sam Clafin (who plays Finnick) tweeted, “PSH – I am genuinely shocked, saddened and speechless. A truly wonderful man, with a magical touch. My hero. Thoughts are with his family.”

Bruno Gunn (Brutus) said bluntly, “fuck. RIP – Award-winning Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead in Manhattan Apartment.”

Isabelle Fuhrman (Clove) wrote: “Such a brilliant actor and man gone way too soon. Rest in Peace Philip Seymour Hoffman.”

Stephanie Leigh Schlund (Cashmere) tweeted: “So sad, what a wonderful, real, talented and sweet person we lost today. My thoughts and prayers go out to Philip’s loved ones.”

Lead cast members including Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson haven’t issued statements, but we’re sure they’ll talk about his stellar skills as an actor and person when they’re next interviewed.

Heads at Lionsgate reportedly met on Sunday to discuss what his death means for Mockingjay, which is currently in production. Hoffman still had seven days of filming left on his schedule, but they do not plan to recast Plutarch or delay Part 1’s November 2014 release, according to Deadline.

The studio said in a statement this morning, “Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation. We’re very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip’s family.”

Hoffman is survived by his girlfriend and three children.
