After just one season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has established itself in the comedic world of television. Forget some details from the first season? Catch up before season 2 premieres this Sunday, September 28 at 8:30 p.m.!

It won the Golden Globe for best comedy show last spring and has become an entertaining and light-hearted show about the world of detectives in Brooklyn, New York.

We asked, and you answered. Based on the results of our poll, we will be covering Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2. We’ll be bringing you episode recaps, stills, promos, and all the info about:

Detective Jake Peralta, Undercover Cop

When Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiered, knowing Andy Samberg’s comedic background, no one could have expected to see the dramatic and sincere sides to Detective Jake Peralta, but that’s exactly what we saw on more than one occasion during the Golden Globe-winning first season of the show. Sure, he was affable and lovable more often than not when it came to the hijinks within the precinct, but when it comes to his partner Amy Santiago, he gets serious. It took him a while to accept his feelings for her, moving through the stages of playground teasing, to flirting, and at one point just kind of bumbling his way through conversations with her. She was obvious to it, entering into a relationship with her ex towards the end of the season and leaving Jake to reassess some life choices.

During the season finale, when Jake came so close to taking down an entire FBI operation, he was “fired” from the 99 but was really going undercover to help the government agency. In the last moments of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 1 finale, he admits to Amy that he “kind of” (aka, really) wished something could happen between them. You know, “romantic styles.” He leaves her outside her car, stunned and speechless. What will happen with them in season 2? Will Jake continue to be involved at the station now that he’s undercover? We can’t wait to tune in and see!

Sergeant Terry Jeffords

Sergeant Terry Jeffords is the Brooklyn Nine-Nine equivalent of a cowardly lion. He’s as strong as a brick wall (the actor, Terry Crews, played football in the NFL for six years in the ‘90s), looming over everyone with is large frame, but also warily enters dangerous situations with a look of pure terror. He’s a doting father (scenes in which he talks about his daughters are down right adorable) and tries to be the logical and reasonable voice of the station. With Captain Holt coming in a the start of season 1, Jeffords struggled to connect with the Captain (then again, who didn’t) but he, along with everyone was able to break through Holt’s tough exterior.

Office Manager Gina Linetti

Gina’s character originally came off as one-dimensional and slightly annoying at the beginning of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 1. It took a while for the show, and the comedian who plays her, Chelsea Peretti, to find Gina’s voice, but once they did, she took off as a shining star in the show. She serves as the outlandish voice of reason in the precinct, and, as Captain Holts chatty assistant, often breaks through his stoic exterior and gets him addicted to Kwazy Kupcakes. It takes a while, but we learn that Gina and Jake have been friends most of their lives, and that Gina cares for Jake more than she’d let on.

Detective Rosa Diaz & Detective Charles Boyle

Rosa Diaz is a tough woman, and all viewers should admire that. She just needs a little work in the ‘personal relationships’ department. Over the first season, we did see her friendship with Santiago grow, and Jake seems to bring out her silly side (he tends to do that), and there was maybe a glimmer of something between her and Boyle. Overall, we hope to see more of Rosa in season 2. And Boyle? Poor Boyle. The man starts the season pining for Rosa, then meets and falls in love with Vivian (Marilu Henner). Unfortunately, their quick engagement falls apart over too many different life decisions, and he ends up back where he was in the pilot – almost. The first season ended with Boyle waking up in bed with Gina. They’re both rightly appalled, and do not seem in any hurry to share their escapade with the other employees at the precinct.

Captain Ray Holt

There are many things that we don’t know about Captain Holt, as he tends to err on the side of caution with the whole personal detail sharing thing. We do know that he is happily married to a wonderful man named Kevin Cozner, that he has taken hula-hooping classes, and that when it comes to his precinct, he is a dedicated and proud leader to a rather rambunctious collection of detectives. Throughout the first season, Captain Holt went out of his way to help his officers. When Terry Jeffords needed a push to get out from behind his desk, he tried to trick him into his re-certification. When Peralta was debating turning in the Commissioner’s son or not, Holt encouraged him to do the right thing, rather than the popular thing. Captain Holt is fully supportive of the men and women he commands and does so with poise and subtle humor.

He and Peralta have a complicated relationship, but last season’s finale brought their bond to an all knew level. Holt has always been a fair and balanced judge when Peralta brings the crazy to the Nine-Nine, but his support in last season’s finale was heartwarming and went above and beyond the call of duty. He, Santiago, and Peralta hit the field to prove a civic leader of the community guilty, and though it may have been inadvisable in the wake of Commissioner Podalski’s warning, Holt never balked at Peralta’s insistence on investigating.

Detective Amy Santiago

Amy Santiago is one absolutely dedicated detective and is always ready for a fight. She and Jake Peralta began season 1 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine with competition on the brain. They moved quickly from competitors to partners, and then from partners to friends. They may have some crazy romantic tension brewing, but Amy Santiago is currently quite happy with her choice in male companion, Teddy. That being said, while she may be all about snuggling with Teddy, there is undeniably something going on with Peralta, especially since she put her job and reputation on the line for him before he left for his big FBI investigation.

When it comes to her superiors she has an unparalleled level of respect, none more so than for her captain. She wants nothing more than to be the one person in the Nine-Nine that can say they understand Captain Holt, and while she inches closer to that end, there’s still a lot of room to grow.

Detective Hitchcock & Detective Scully

Simple is as simple does. Hitchcock and Scully will surely be up to their old tricks which, in the past, have included general laziness, being completely ineffective toward arresting any and all criminals, and eating as many doughnuts as they can get their hands on. Add in their tendency to bring the gross to any and all situations (a flash of Scully putting a foot on the desk containing a large number of warts comes to mind) and you can bet that Scully and Hitchcock won’t have a dramatic change of character during the break. They are staples around the precinct, and we can’t wait to see their newest antics in action during season 2.
