How will last week’s last minute wedding effect the world of Castle? Find out below!

Yay! They got married! And Lanie, Espo, and Ryan weren’t invited. And with those disappointed faces (no song!) Castle and Beckett get called away for a murder. Kate reveals that they can’t go on their honeymoon to an exotic island like they planned because she used all her vacation days looking for him. Sad day.

Our murder victim, Whitney, whispered the word “diamondback” before her death and no one knows what it means. Ryan finds out it is referring to a dude ranch in Arizona called Diamondback. After some sketchy reasons by the sheriff in Arizona as to why he won’t follow through with the case, Castle comes up with the idea that they go undercover as newlyweds so they can find the evidence they need to solve the case.

Once at the ranch, they procure the victim’s room as their own. Unfortunately Whitney didn’t have that room so the key belongs to something else. Oh hey!!! It’s Tyler Hilton aka Chris Keller from One Tree Hill. Tobias was not interested in Whitney; they were on the same team, as Castle and Kate befriend him to get some info. They find out Whitney was potentially having an affair with a married man.

Back at the precinct, they find that Whitney’s bags were stolen off the subway and Lanie found traces of wax paper cardboard underneath her nails.

At the saloon, Castle angers one of the ranch hands by accusing him of cheating which he later confirms outside. Apparently Whitney came onto him but only to steal his ranch key which opens the ranch shed. Turns out that wax under her nails was from dynamite being kept in the shed. Whoa!

The historical society she was researching in the city deal with a Native campground, the Yavapai, that is located right next to the dude ranch. She detoured from her trail tour one day to head to the reservation. Turns out she needed some clarification on a word and was satisfied with the answer one of the Yavapai gave her.

Ryan and Espo recover the missing luggage which contains a 20-year-old letter from a Clyde, a ranch worker. He was apparently looking for the gold stolen by the Peacock Boys years ago. She needed the dynamite to blast open a dam that was hiding the gold. The letter was sent to Whitney’s mother and that means the Clyde is her father. They find the abandoned mine and a trunk filled with… a dead body. Yikes!

Unfortunately the skull is Clyde. His buddy took the gold and left. Philip Dagmar, the man from earlier in the episode who was Whitney’s next of kin phone call. And isn’t it suspicious that the sheriff wants to take Kate to the crime scene by herself, leaving Castle alone with the real killer James Grady, the owner of the dude ranch.

Castle, of course, challenges him to a gun duel. Unfortunately we do not see Mal from Firefly but rather the fastest gun in the east as Kate stops him.

And God bless Ryan and Esposito, who after the Captain knocks some sense into them, both give Kate two of their vacation days so Caskett can have a mini-honeymoon!
