Last night on Castle season 7, episode 19, we saw the group divided over a talent show. They also solved a murder. Read the full recap for more.

“Habeas Corpse” was a great episode but not because of its murder. That was actually really, really boring. A lawyer who was once at the top of his game at a top law firm was murdered. He had recently started his own office where he was a personal injury lawyer. He was tortured to death by a stun gun. Ouch. He used to prowl hospitals for clients and one ends up sticking out. A woman got in a car accident where three metal shards pierced her.

While looking into the lawyer’s case, they come upon a private detective who loaned him some night time gear. He mentions that the lawyer asked how to get rid of a body. This leads Castle and Beckett to the woods where they discover the body bag… and also a masked man. He ties them up, takes their keys and their phones. Turns out the private detective was the one behind this and when they retrieve the body bag they find a safety dummy inside. With same three piercings as our car crash victim.

It turns out that our dead lawyer was trying to warn his ex-wife that the company she worked for was going to come under a huge lawsuit for the defective cars. A rival lawyer, nicknamed The Hammer, who also trolled the hospital, was going to sue the car company for millions and get a massive payout. The private investigator turned on The Hammer so he would avoid serious jail time. When The Hammer found the other lawyer snooping, he had killed him.

The real treat of the night were the character interactions. It begins with Alexis getting some last minute studying help from Kate. There is never enough Kate and Alexis scenes for our liking so this definitely was appreciated. This then leads to a delightful bantering scene between Kate and Rick where they flirt using court room jargon. “… and you look very, very good in a robe.” “Care to take a ten minute recess in my chambers?” “If it pleases the court I would.” Nathan Fillion is a master of facial acting and this scene is worth the rewind.

The main source of humor though for the episode is the talent competition for some ball the precinct is involved in. Ryan and Espo are the two-time champions, having won last year’s competition with a parody of Dirty Dancing’s final dance number, The Crime of Our Lives. We would pay BIG money to see that routine. Classic Espo and Ryan. This year Castle is asked to step in as the celebrity contestant and he is more than willing.

Espo fakes a knee injury to get Castle to up their bet. The scene is a priceless example of this cast’s chemistry. When we actually get to see the team’s dance, it’s good, so good. They are doing a dance parody to “Get Lucky,” titled “You’re Guilty.” We were only able to find a small snippet but the episode is worth a watch just to see the complete dance, especially Esposito’s facial expressions. Watch the clip below:

Castle wants to do their shower song and dance, to which Kate immediately says NO. They end up coming up with a more sophisticated song and dance routine, thanks to Martha’s help. But when Castle skips (literally) away to make a call, Kate reveals to Martha that she has terrifying stage fright. In the end, Castle gets Jimmy Kimmel, the original celebrity guest to come back and the boys become three-time champs.

The show ends with a silhouetted version of Castle and Kate doing their “routine” and it’s very cute.
