Season 2 of Hulu’s Stephen King series, Castle Rock, will still be set in the titular, fictional town and will be Misery themed.

Fans of the Hulu series Castle Rock have a big reason to be excited. It has just been announced that the second season of the show will act as sort of a Misery prequel.

As TVLine reports, Lizzy Caplan and Elsie Fisher are set to star in the show’s second season. Caplan will play a younger version of Misery’s lead character and nurse-from-hell, Annie Wilkes (originally played by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film). Fisher will play Wilkes’ home-schooled daughter, Joy.

There aren’t many details just yet about what to expect from the Misery prequel storyline. However, we do know a feud between warring clans will come to a head when Annie Wilkes and her daughter are stuck in Castle Rock.

Of course, Caplan and Fisher aren’t the only ones joining in on the Castle Rock fun in season 2. Tim Robbins (best known for his work in the film adaptation of King’s novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption) will play Reginald “Pop” Merrill, the patriarch of a notorious crime family you might recognize from King’s novella The Sun Dog. Garrett Hedlund will also join the cast to play Pop’s nephew, John “Ace” Merrill, a man who is working to take over the family business.

Season 1 of Castle Rock was highly praised by critics and fans alike, and we’re certain season 2’s journey into more corners of the Stephen King universe will be amazing. With the show adding so many talented actors this season, it will be a season no one will want to miss.

Castle Rock season 1 is streaming on Hulu now. You can catch season 2 when it premieres on Hulu later this year.
