The two leads have been cast in the adaptation of Fallen by Lauren Kate, which is a story about fallen angels.

Addison Timlin will play Luce, the main protagonist of the story. She is sent to Sword and Cross, a reform school, when a boy is killed in a fire that she is blamed for starting. Upon her arrival at Sword and Cross, she meets Daniel and Cam, both of whom she falls for. However, she is drawn to Daniel and feels as if she knows him from somewhere.

Jeremy Irvine will play Daniel according to Lauren Kate’s official site. Daniel is a fallen angel who did not choose the side of good or evil, but instead he chose love.

Daniel feigns disinterest in Luce, trying to ignore her for her own safety. There is a curse that has affected Daniel and Luce since the beginning of time. He is very secretive about Luce’s past, but it’s mainly to do with the fact that he’s scared that if she learns of it too quickly, she will die. He has watched her die many times and he doesn’t want to lose her again.

According to Deadline, Fallen will be directed by Scott Hicks, who also directed Shine. Kathryn Price and Nicole Millard adapted and Michael Ross wrote the most recent draft. Lotus is financing and producing with Mayhem Pictures.

The Fallen series consists of four books, Fallen, Torment, Passion, and Rapture. There is also a novella, Fallen in Love, that takes place in the Middle Ages and tells the back story of several of the main characters in the Fallen series.

The Fallen series has been translated into over 30 languages. It has hit number one on the New York Times Bestseller List and number two on the Series List.
