The Stranger Things 3 family is growing, adding two more popular ’80s icons to the already wonderful cast: Carey Elwes and Jake Busey.

While we still have several months before Stranger Things 3 hits our Netflix queues, the latest casting announcement to come from the show has got us even more excited for the show to return. With names like Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser filling out the cast list, it’s no secret that Stranger Things is meant to be a giant love story to the 80s. The show just added another ’80s icon to the list in the form of everyone’s favorite farmboy/Dread Pirate Roberts: Carey Elwes.

As Deadline reports, Elwes will be playing a character named Mayor Kline in the third installment of the Stranger Things story. While it stands to reason that Kline will be the mayor of Hawkins, Indiana, the town where a majority of the Stranger Things action happens, the details of Elwes role have been kept secret.

Jake Busey is also set to join the cast, playing a character named Bruce. Busey is most well known for his roles in films like Contact and Identity, and if his previous roles are any indication, he’ll likely be playing a bit of a bad guy in the new season. However, just like Mayor Kline, there aren’t many details surrounding this new character.

It’s not surprising that Netflix is keeping character details under wraps. The streaming giant hasn’t given out many details at all about Stranger Things 3 and hasn’t even given us a release date for the new season. However, if the first two seasons of Stranger Things are any indication, the Duffer Brothers can tell one hell of a story, and Stranger Things 3 will be more than worth the wait, especially with these new cast members.

What are your theories on these new ‘Stranger Things 3’ characters?
