Music’s rising star, Lizzo, is gearing up to make her big screen debut— and she’ll be doing so in some pretty phenomenal company!

Between her showstopping Coachella performance and the release of her brand new album, it’s safe to say Lizzo’s been having a pretty great week.

That being said, things just got a bit more exiting for the rising music star, who just became the latest to join the cast of upcoming stripper revenge flick, Hustlers.

Hustlers will mark the “Juice” singer’s grand debut on the silver screen, joining previously announced first-time film star and fellow chart-topper, Cardi B.

Cardi isn’t the only big name attached to star in the upcoming film from writer/director Lorene Scafaria.

As we learned when the project was first announced, Hustlers boasts a star studded cast consisting of Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians), Jennifer Lopez (Marry Me), Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Julia Stiles (Silver Linings Playbook), Mercedes Ruehl (Power), Trace Lysette (Transparent), Mette Towley (Cats), and Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale).

There’s currently no word on who Lizzo will play in the film, which is set to be released in theaters on September 13.

Original Story (3/19/2019):

Grammy winner Cardi B has dominated the music charts, and now the rapper is gearing up to make some serious money moves on the big screen!

According to Deadline, Cardi B has officially signed on to make her big screen debut in the upcoming movie, Hustlers.

Also starring Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians) and Jennifer Lopez, Hustlers is based off a 2015 article titled “The Hustlers at Score,” which originally appeared in New York Magazine’s The Cut.

The film tells the story of “a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.”

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s involvement with the project serves as a bit of a full circle moment. Fans who’ve been following Cardi’s career will know that prior to becoming a Grammy-winning artist, the rapper worked as a stripper herself.

Cardi, Wu, and Lopez aren’t the only big names attached to star in the upcoming film. Other actresses who have also signed on for Hustlers include Riverdale’s Lilli Reinhart, Scream Queens vet Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles (Save the Last Dance), and Academy Award-winner Mercedes Ruehl.

Behind the scenes, The Meddler’s Lorene Scafaria will serve as writer and director on the film.

Hustlers is scheduled to begin shooting on March 22, 2019 in New York City. There’s currently no word on when we can expect the film to hit the big screen.
