Bad news for Cardi B fans. The rapper and brand-new momma announced on Instagram that she is bowing out of her stadium tour with Bruno Mars.

Cardi B and Bruno Mars planned a massive stadium tour together called the 24k Magic Tour. However, after the birth of her first daughter, Mars’ “Finesse” collaborator is bowing out of the tour.

Cardi B took to her Instagram to express her regret and explain why she had to bow out of the tour, explaining that 6 weeks just wasn’t enough time to get her physically and mentally ready to tour the country after the birth of her daughter. The rapper explained that she “underestimated this whole mommy thing,” and needed to take more time to physically recover and continue bonding with her daughter, Kulture.

For his part, Bruno Mars was nothing but supportive of his friend’s decision, saying that she made the right choice by putting her health and her family first. However, he also said he’d be sure to honor her by playing her smash hit single, “Bodak Yellow” every night.

While this news is certainly a bummer for those excited to see Cardi B perform, we’re happy she felt confident and supported enough to express when she wasn’t quite ready to get back to work. Women aren’t often given the time and space they need to recover physically and emotionally from childbirth, and we’re glad to see Cardi B not only take the time she needs but also to encounter nothing but support from her colleagues.

We can’t wait to see her in concert when she’s ready to get on the road again!
