Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s new character The Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, was seen on set for the first time today and we’ve gotten a few shots of the actor doing his own stunts.

A few weeks back Marvel finally sent out a press release which explained that filming had begun on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was revealed that Scarlett Johansson’s character, Black Widow, would have a leading role in the film, as well as Anthony Mackie, and some new images seen yesterday seem to confirm that she’ll be tagging along with Steve Rogers to fight crime. Check out the new images below which feature Anthony Mackie as the Falcon doing some green-screen work (note: he flies).

There aren’t many details known about Captain America’s sequel, but the press release gave us a logline which explains a bit about the film: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.”

We had our first look at The Falcon character back when The Avengers Phase One collector’s set hit shelves.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The sequel stars Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Frank Grillo and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s release date is April 4, 2014.
