Meet Captain Romania: A dancing vampire. Or Captain Britain: Captain America’s biggest fanboy. These are the superhero Captains of Europe.

Captain America is all well and good, but with Captain America: Civil War giving us our third installment of Steve Rogers’ story, perhaps it’s time to look beyond U.S. borders for a new Captain?

No, we don’t mean Captain Canada (though he’s awesome), or even the environmentally friendly Captain Euro.

We mean Captain Norway, who wields the power of personal space. And Captain Denmark, who’s building a LEGO shield. And of course Captain France, whose emulation of Henri Le Chat Noir is spot on.

In honor of Eurovision this week, the PistolShrimps have made a hilarious video introducing the European superheroes, poking fun at all the stereotypes (sometimes getting real dark with it — hi Ukraine), and making all us Europeans feel a little more included in the superhero game:

Kilt-clad Captain Scotland may be heroic, but no one can understand a word he says. Captain Finland stands in the snow, wearing no clothes, a Nokia shield (it’s indestructible) and a bottle of vodka in his hands. Captain Sweden is unemployed due to a lack of crime. Captain Spain is having a siesta. And… the less said about Captain Russia the better.

This kind of self-referential humor is refreshing. Thanks for giving us a good laugh, PistolShrimps!

And, if you’re not done laughing about Europeans, check out this video about Sweden from this year’s Eurovision semi-final. It’s sure to put a smile on your face:
