A new Captain America: Civil War trailer will be released on Thursday, and rumors suggest we’ll finally see Spider-Man join the Avengers.

Update: The new Captain America: Civil War trailer has been released, and it gives us our first look at Spider-Man!

Despite all the trailers and TV spots we’ve seen for Captain America: Civil War we’ve yet to get our first look at Spider-Man (played by Tom Holland), and while it looked like it may not happen until the film hit theaters, a new rumor suggests the trailer premiering tomorrow will feature the web-slinger “heavily.”

Latino Review reports that Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Spider-Man will swing into Civil War’s new trailer, giving us our first look at the character’s reincarnation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The studio released teasers for the new trailer earlier today, and it showed us literally everyone except for Spider-Man, so this rumor may fall completely on its face, but we would really love for it to be true.

There’s also part of me that hopes Spider-Man doesn’t get revealed until the movie hits theaters in May, because it could be a huge selling point for the film, but it’s also exciting if a studio is able to keep a lid on such a massively popular superhero.

This rumor actually goes against some other reports that Sony actually hasn’t given Marvel/Disney permission to use Spider-Man in promotion for the movie, which seems insane, but it actually might be part of the deal that they made when we finally got Spider-Man back into the Marvel universe.

We know that Sony is planning solo Spider-Man movies, which may be the reason they want to save a lot of Spider-Man TV spots and promotion, so that they can allow Civil War to build up word-of-mouth, while remaining in more control of the character’s social media exposure.

It seems odd either way, as you’d think Marvel would love to get all the Spider-Man fans excited about their new movie, and it would obviously help the solo Spider-Man movies down-the-road, so we’ll be sure to keep a close eye on Captain America: Civil War’s new trailer.

The new trailer will premiere Thursday, March 10, and we’ll be sure to have it available for fans as soon as possible. We’ll find out soon whether Spider-Man will be making an appearance before the film hits theaters.

Captain America: Civil War will hit U.S. theaters May 6, 2016. The film’s story “picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity,” according to a synopsis from Marvel. “After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”
