Is there anything Adele’s “Hello” doesn’t work with?! It sure fits the already emotionally-charged Captain America: Civil War trailer.

Earlier this week, the Captain America: Civil War trailer broke the Marvel fandom.

All we really knew about the movie was that it’d be a conflict between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), which would divide the Avengers.

The trailer painted a much more personal, emotional picture: Not only does Tony Stark feel personally betrayed by Steve Rogers, but Steve appears to be going against his friends and the government in order to protect his Bucky (Sebastian Stan).

Enter Adele’s “Hello,” which has already proven that it can fix Thanksgiving — clearly, it can also serve as a commentary on Steve Rogers’ emotional state.

Not only does the parody trailer prove that Cap’s story is a tearjerker, but it’s also hilarious: Bucky looking up at the first “hello,” only for the “it’s me” to be from the POV of the soldiers presumably coming to kill him.

The best thing is that very little editing has actually been done in order for the trailer to fit the mood of Adele’s melancholic “Hello.”

Like many fans have pointed out, the Civil War trailer strongly suggests that the Russo Brothers are really telling the story of Steve Rogers, not another Avengers tale.

And, of course, the theme of one person saying hello “from the other side” is very appropriate, considering this is the story of former friends turned enemies, fighting on two opposite sides of the titular Civil War.

(Does this mean Adele’s a superhero now?)

‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits cinemas on May 6, 2016.
