Paul Rudd has finally opened up about the fact that he’ll be appearing in Captain America: Civil War, and he says he can’t believe he’s actually standing beside Chris Evans as Captain America.

We’d seen leaked images of Paul Rudd visiting the set of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, but now we’re hearing it from the horse’s mouth: Ant-Man is definitely appearing in Civil War alongside Captain America and Iron Man as they wage war against one another.

While Rudd’s Ant-Man is landing in theaters on July 17, 2015, it looks like he’ll have a pretty quick turn around as he’ll be appearing in Captain America: Civil War when it hits theaters on May 6, 2016.

The pint-sized superhero has gained momentum lately, and after some leaked set images showed him chatting it up with Captain America himself, Chris Evans, the rumors were confirmed by Marvel that Ant-Man would play a small role in Civil War. We’re still not quite sure how big of role he’ll have in the film, but it’s confirmed that he will be in the film.

While doing an interview with The Best Show, Rudd said, “It’s been an interesting thing because I also just went and worked a little bit on Captain America: Civil War.” He continued, saying, “To be in that Marvel world, but kind of be somewhat in a bubble [Ant-Man’s solo movie] and now to kind of have these experiences where I’m standing opposite Captain America, It’s been a surreal ride so far. It’s really only just starting.”

Rudd seems to hint that he’s either getting ready for the massive promotional “ride” that he’ll be on for Ant-Man’s release, or if he’s actually going to be involved in more of Marvel’s future films, including the two-part Avengers: Infinity War.

Marvel has been desperately attempting to link Ant-Man to the Avengers, as the character is essentially unknown to the average moviegoer, which is why they released a few new Avengers inspired posters which featured Ant-Man standing on Thor’s hammer, Iron Man’s shoulder, and Cap’s shield. It’s very smart marketing, as Marvel knows that to make a solo Ant-Man movie a financial success, they have to get fans of the other Marvel film’s to know that Ant-Man is just another cog in the Avengers’ wheel.

A new poster for Ant-Man was also released today, featuring Paul Rudd in front of what looks similar to the Avengers’ logo. Check out the new Ant-Man poster below:

Ant-Man will be a very interesting addition to the Avengers, and Rudd brings an entirely new dynamic to the team. It’ll be interesting to see when he joins the Avengers in later films, and what size role he’ll have in Captain America: Civil War. In a recent trailer Ant-Man, Rudd’s character, even mentions that they should “call the Avengers” in kind of a tongue-in-cheek way when something goes terribly wrong in the first Ant-Man film.

For now, we’ll just have to see how Ant-Man turns out when it hits theaters next month. Paul Rudd has a different fan base than most Avengers’ characters, so we’re excited to see if both audiences turn out once the film hits theaters on July 17.

The other big question remains: Which side will Ant-Man choose in ‘Civil War’?
