We’ve seen at least two relationships crash and burn since How to Get Away with Murder began, but can any ship survive in such rough waters?

Relationships on television have rough roads to navigate on their journey to happiness. Some make it, some don’t. Some burn brightly for a season and are remembered forever, and some run for the entirety of a show and are quickly forgotten. One thing is for certain, we love watching them.

How to Get Away with Murder may be the toughest challenge for love to face yet. This show is a toxic wasteland just waiting to poison even the healthiest of ships, and these characters aren’t always in the healthiest of relationships to begin with. Here are seven of How to Get Away with Murder‘s finest ships and our best guess at whether or not they have any hope of making it for the long haul.

Sam/Annalise

A married couple would seem like a sure bet when it comes to odds, but Sam and Annalise were doomed from the start, literally. The show began its run with Sam’s death. They may have been a good match at sometime in their history, but all we saw between them in season 1 was manipulation and lies.

Wes/Rebecca

Here’s another doomed relationship thanks to How to Get Away with Murder‘s need for bodies. They were actually a good fit for a while there, but even they turned on each other when external forces got involved. Even so, Wes was not happy to learn that she was dead in the mid-season finale, and if he ever learns the whole truth about what happened to her, we can see some serious rage in his future.

Connor/Oliver

Things between them started casual and fun after Connor manipulated Oliver into helping with a case, but we quickly saw that Connor, the player, the no strings guy, was getting attached. Now, Connor is more devoted to his relationship than anyone else on the show. Despite their typical beginning, this pair have weathered more than a few storms so far. If any of these couples has the ability to survive the toxic atmosphere of murder and mayhem, our money’s on these two. Oliver just needs to keep himself and his hacking skills out of trouble.

Annalise/Eve

These two have a lot of history, and as we learn more and more about Wes’ history with Annalise, details about her past with Eve are sure to come to light as well. It’s hard to decide whether they are good together or not, especially when you compare Eve to Annalise’s other relationships, but since they both seem to have a role to play in Wes’ mother’s demise, we have a hard time believing that things are finished between them.

Frank/Laurel

Last week’s episode of HTGAWM showed Frank and Laurel teetering on the edge of longevity and disaster. Laurel walked into his apartment ready to end things, but instead got a surprise she definitely didn’t expect. We’ve known since the end of season 1 that Frank was not only capable of murder, but has committed it, and it was just a matter of time until Laurel found out. What does this revelation mean for them long term? Hopefully we’ll find out in How to Get Away with Murder season 3, episode 12, “It’s a Trap.”

Bonnie/Asher

It’s not entirely clear if they’re broken up or not at the moment, as Asher is still trying to figure out how to live with himself in the post-murder landscape. It’s new territory for him, as he wasn’t involved in the cover up of Sam Keating’s murder in season 1. They aren’t actively together, as Bonnie was hurt when she learned some more colorful parts of Asher’s past, but, ultimately, she was there for him in his darkest hour, which isn’t nothing. We may see these two together again someday if they can learn to forgive and forget.

Annalise/Nate

This relationship is the definition of strained. What began as a fling to help Annalise survive a depressing marriage has spiraled into a friendship that has definitely seen better days. While Nate and Annalise have never seemed to have timing on their side, they definitely bring out each other’s defensive side. Neither wants to see the other in any sort of trouble, and they are always there for each other when times get tough. If they can put their past behind them and start over, they could be good for each other.

Which current relationship(s) do you think can survive the mayhem of ‘How to Get Away with Murder’?
