Sony Pictures Television, the studio behind NBC’s Community, has launched a social media campaign to #watchcommunitylive during the season 4 finale this Thursday.

Sometimes it feels like the experience of being a Community fan is just one prolonged campaign to keep it on the air. Now, for the first time, the studio that produces the show has formally joined in the fight.

Despite being the studio behind Community, Sony Pictures Television does not choose whether it will see a fifth season. That is up to the network, and Sony must either believe the threat of cancellation is real enough or the financial benefits finally lucrative enough to lobby for its renewal.

They released a video last Thursday featuring scenes from the show’s four year run and the preferred hashtag “#watchcommunitylive.” Check it out below:

“All good things must come to an end,” the video posits. “But not yet.” The video features Community signs super-imposed over boards from Starburns’ funeral in season 3 and also makes great use of Jeff Winger’s “community” speech from the pilot.

It’s unlikely that one video released a week before the end of the fourth season would encourage any Community non-believers to tune in to the finale, but it’s a nice gesture on Sony’s part nonetheless.
