This is not a joke. EA really has teamed up with a toothpaste company to provide exclusive downloadable content for SimCity.

If you’re in North America, you can buy specially marked Crest and Oral B toothpaste and floss to obtain codes for SimCity DLC. The codes unlock the Attractions Set, five buildings that attract tourists of all wealth categories to your city. The tourists destinations available in this deal are: a Giant Garden Gnome, Dolly the Dinosaur, Llarry the Llama, MaxisMan Statue and the World’s Largest Ball of Twine.

A llama statue. Maxis’ beloved mascot can finally have the place it deserves in your city.

You can redeem your codes here, where EA has inadvertently revealed the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of SimCity, or else they just got the photos mixed up. If you don’t want to buy a Crest product, you can also request a code via snail mail, thanks to some digging in the small print by a Reddit user.

If you’re not a SimCity player, the codes are redeemable for in-game currency in The Sims Social, if you’re happy to sink more money into a Facebook game that will close in June, as EA recently announced.

If you’re a European SimCity player, it appears you’ll miss out on this wondrous opportunity to diversify your virtual cities, no matter how many dental products you buy.

This DLC follows the release of the free Nissan Leaf charging station DLC, which added happiness to nearby areas without using up water, electricity, or workers. Thanks Nissan.
