The first trailer for Butter, a political satire starring Jennifer Garner that first appeared at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, has been released.

The film, directed by Jim Field Smith (She’s Out of My League), co-stars an impressive cast that includes Rob Corddry (Cedar Rapids), Ashley Greene (Twilight), Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), Hugh Jackman (The Prestige), and Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy).

Take a look at the trailer below:

In small-town Iowa, an adopted girl discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman in their town’s annual contest.

Butter, which received solid buzz out of the 2011 TIFF, hits VOD on September 7, before moving into theaters October 5. The film certainly hopes to build an audience surrounding the upcoming elections. What do you think of the trailer? Are you interested in seeing this?
