Sandra Bullock is coming aboard Sony Pictures’ Bullet Train.

According to Variety, Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock is the newest actress to join the cast of Bullet Train— the upcoming action thriller coming down the pipeline at Sony Pictures.

Based on the Japanese novel, Maria Beetle, by author Kotaro Isaka, the popular book tells the story of a group of hitmen and assassins, all of whom have conflicting motives, and who also happen to be traveling aboard the same train to Tokyo.

Sandra Bullock is far from the only notable name to sign on for the forthcoming action thriller. The Oscar winner joins a cast lead by fellow Academy Award recipient Brad Pitt.

Pitt is set to take on the role of an American hitman named Ladybug for the action flick. Unfortunately, those interested to learn more about who Bullock will play will have to sit tight. Currently, specifics surrounding her role in the film are being kept tightly under wraps.

Others who’ve already signed on to join the ensemble cast include Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Masi Oka, Andrew Koji, and Grammy Award winning artist Bad Bunny.

Behind the camera. Bullet Train has tapped Hobbs & Shaw helmer David Leitch to serve as director. Leitch will also be supervising the script, which is being written by Fear Street scribe Zak Olkewicz.

Sony Pictures has yet to announce when we can expect to see Bullet Train speed on to the big screen.
