Although not everyone was able to win a real Oscar statue on Sunday night, the “Everything is Awesome” dance crew was able to ease the pain of nominees in the audience by presenting them with alternatives made with plastic and love. Now you can make your own at home thanks to this step-by-step guide!

Do you wish you were as happy as Oprah is in the image above? Well now you can be!

Reader Chase Hinton sent in this detailed guide that gives viewers step-by-step instructions on how to construct their very own LEGO Oscar (LEGOscar?), complete with a list of the different type of bricks you’ll need and images that show you how it should look every step of the way.

The guide was made using the LEGO.com Digital Designer, free software provided by LEGO that allows users to make their own digital LEGO blueprints so that they can make their creations in real life.

This particular guide actually shows you how to build an Oscar statue more similar to the one tweeted by Phil Lord, director of The LEGO Movie, after the Academy baffled millions by not nominating his film for Best Animated Feature.

As you can see, the guide that we’ve provided above uses black pieces for the base and has a more elaborate statue design than the ones used in the Oscars telecast and the one tweeted by Lord. The LEGO software didn’t provide a front view of the statue, but if you construct it layer by layer as it’s meant to be constructed, then it should end up coming together similar to how it does in the video below.

Hopefully, like Emma Stone, Oprah, and Clint Eastwood, this imitation award will brush over the fact that you weren’t honored on Oscar night. Or maybe you can use it to practice your Oscar speech for when you eventually do get nominated.

If you happen to have all 470 pieces necessary to build this mock-accolade (mockolade?), we encourage you to tweet or comment with pictures of you with your plastic statue! Alternatively, if you’re all out of yellow pieces and only have pink and blue, then send in pictures of the Hypable logo using the LEGO Digital Designer!
