BTS Bring The Soul: Docu-Series episode 1, “Challenge,” dove into the thoughts and worries the members had leading up to their massive world tour, including their first-ever stadium concert in South Korea.

BTS leader Kim Namjoon’s words open up the first episode of Bring The Soul: Docu-series.

“Pressure? Pressure.”

And thus begins the theme of the next 30 minutes of Bring The Soul: Docu-Series episode 1, “Challenge,” as BTS gears up to kick off their world tour with their first-ever stadium concert in South Korea.

The episode shows the group tirelessly practicing their dance routines, heavy breaths filling their microphones after complicated numbers. Going over and over their new material until the very last minute to try and get everything right.

It also shows their disappointment and stress when things do go wrong. How they deal with all of the emotions and struggles that are constantly thrown their way.

As well as what they love about being on tour, and how they keep their minds right with everything that could bring them down.

Get inspired by these quotes from BTS ‘Bring The Soul: Docu-Series’ episode 1, ‘Challenge’:

“I do feel like I have a different mindset. For ‘Wings’ we had fire in our blood and we had sky-high dreams. ‘Got to do this, and got to do that.’ ‘I need to make this happen,’ that kind of thing. That was the big thing. But now, I feel relaxed. I’m enjoying this moment.” – Jung Hoseok

“When it comes to a tour, doing something new and doing what you’re used to doing is totally different. I think our ‘Wings” concert tour was the beginning. Of course, there were other tours…like ‘The Red Bullet’ but we were just starting out and still green. Now, everyone’s rock steady. They handle things well without much trouble.” – Kim Seokjin

“I still get very nervous. Might not look that way, but first it’s the physical side of it causing that anxiety. How I get through the first three numbers sets the tone for that day. That makes me very nervous.” – Kim Namjoon

“The worst thing is jet lag. I’m the worst at getting over the jet lag. Even if I work at it, I still have trouble sleeping.” – Min Yoongi

“Before a concert, I’m petrified. ‘Will I do this one right?’ that looms in my mind. People think when we go on tour we get to travel, eat food food, perform. But there is another layer, a struggle beneath it.” – Min Yoongi

“Still, When I’m on stage I can feel I’m alive.” – Min Yoongi

“And the seven of us. Watching the seven of us, tens of thousands of people have fun and get crazy. I still remember it, all the concerts I went to when I was younger. Especially the performances I saw in my teens. I think it’s something remarkable to be able to give people those fond memories to cherish.” – Min Yoongi

“Performing at the Olympic Stadium, it’s a big deal and something to be proud of. And we know really well that not everyone gets a chance like this. It means more people have taken an interest in us, and that more people have found out about us.” – Park Jimin

“The Typhoon. Honestly I was lost. ‘So what do I need to do at the Olympic Stadium?’ Couldn’t get a handle on it. The biggest thought I had was ‘I need to keep up the energy. I shouldn’t make any mistakes. I need to go hard on concert day to make up for this.’ That’s what I thought to myself.” – Kim Taehyung

“We’re performing in a huge venue. It’s another level of scale. That’s why I think it’s hard.” – Kim Namjoon

“Our fans will be watching, lots of people will be watching. That is where we are and we need to show it. Through our actions, through our music, through our performance, something they can see and acknowledge. Strive to show ourselves as befitting of where we are now.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“There’s pressure. It’s scary. It’s scary to go up. Because if we go up and then come crashing down, what will people say? But what can we do about it? We do what we can do now. For me, it was ‘I want first place.’ I didn’t want to live my life expecting to be at the top.” – Kim Namjoon

“Instead of being afraid of the pressure, I need to stay true to myself, work hard at making albums, and perform hard. What more can we do?” – Kim Namjoon

“We hold on to these dilemmas, uncertainties and imbalances, and we keep creating. That’s what we’re supposed to do. That’s how we make our living.” – Kim Namjoon

“Our exhaustion and their thrill are directly proportional. The more tired we are the more fun they have out there. So, we have no choice. We go all the way.” – Kim Namjoon

“Before the song, we get on the lift and go up. When they say, ‘Going up now!’ I close my eyes, and when I’m up I open them. It makes me feel so good. I wasn’t very good at this before. But now I think, ‘What if there’s no ARMY here?’ ‘What if it’s not a full house?’ ‘All right, let’s find out.’ And I get goosebumps, out of this world. Wow. It’s electrifying like nothing else. That’s when I feel that I’m alive. Right there.” – Kim Taehyung

“If I make a comparison, it kind of feels like rebooting a computer. Like a reset.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“Before I go up the stage everything is so hectic. Because there is a list of songs and a lot of things to go over. But the moment I’m lifted up onto the stage something shifts, right then. There’s a current that shifts inside my body.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“How should I describe this feeling? Should I say, it boils up from inside? It kind of feels like this.” – Park Jimin

“They say fun turns into stress when it becomes work. But going on tour like this is more precious than work. Just meeting ARMY.” – Kim Taehyung

“That’s when the roar is the most intense. It’d be lying if I said there’s no pressure. To keep going until the end, that’s totally up to us.” – Min Yoongi

“Of course there’s the fatigue. The fatigue accumulates. We’re going full speed, and the fatigue of course sets in.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“When we debuted, there was a lot of naysaying. But some people would give us a break. But not anymore. The eyes and ears of the public have changed so much. And the world keeps rushing by. So, we can’t dial it back. We’ve made it this far, but we can’t be complacent. Because a mistake like this here, is going to be like this out there.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“Our work. What we do. Winning a Billboard Award, good performance on the Billboard charts, a tour, a concert. Whatever it is that we do people show interest. They send us support and encouragement.” – Kim Seokjin

“What we do has that ripple effect. So not just our songs, but every behavior, we need to be careful. And we have an obligation to put on a great performance.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“There’s pressure. We’ve gone through venues of all sizes, step by step. From AX Hall to Jamsil Main Stadium. What’s certain, is that it’s not easy. These aren’t ordinary experiences. Think about it. Take someone who’s not in this line of work, stand them before 45,000 people and they’ll be shaking.” – Min Yoongi

“I want to take an objective look at myself. I have to be satisfied with myself and say that I’m fine, things are fine. But still, I have this impatience.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“To be honest, the whole world has their eyes on BTS. Honestly I say now, ‘I’m enjoying it, I am’ that I’m enjoying the moment. But there will come hardships, things I can’t tell anyone else.” – Jung Hoseok

“All of our members have this burning desire. That’s why I think we’ll continue to climb. It goes without saying, but we want to sing better. We want to perform better. To our audience, and people who listen to our music, we want to move them, move them even more.” – Park Jimin

“I know that so many ARMY have so much love for me. I know it. I think that’s why I try even harder. That makes me want it more.” – Kim Taehyung

“I’m happy when I’m on the stage. I think, ‘If I sing this song at a concert, will people like it?’ ‘I want them to like it.’ ‘How can I sing it so they’ll love it?’” – Kim Seokjin

“The more we do this, the more I feel something. Before our debut, I wanted to become a singer because I simply liked dancing and singing. But now when I look back, I have to say that I’m on the stage because of ARMY. I hope we can share these moments each year, every year.” – Jeon Jeongguk

“There are things I can change and things I can’t change. What I can change, I change. If I don’t want to, that’s still okay. What I can’t change, I can’t change. So, it’s fine. I’m doing good right now, the way I am. So keep going, steadfast.” – Kim Namjoon
