Bruno Mars gets the party going in the music video for his retro new single, “Locked Out of Heaven.”

“Your sex takes me to paradise/ And it shows (yeah, yeah, yeah)/ Cause you make me feel like, I’ve been locked out of heaven/ For too long,” Mars sings as he performs live amidst a dancing crowd in the old-school video, which has a ’70s disco-era vibe. Check it out below.

“The concept is just old-fashioned fun. No story line, it’s not me singing to a girl, you get a good sense of what you’re going to get live,” he told MTV News about the new music video. “It’s very VHS-y. I love that man, it takes me back to my childhood, when the tracking is off and the color is off, there’s a beauty in that. You’d have to stand by the TV with, like, aluminum foil all over you.”

Mars’ sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, is due Dec. 11. It will follow 2010’s Doo-wops & Hooligans – an album that produced No. 1 singles in “Just The Way You Are” and “Grenade.”

Tune in to Saturday Night Live Oct. 20 to watch Mars perform “Locked Out of Heaven” live for the first time as he hosts and serves as the musical guest on the NBC sketch comedy show.
