Captain Holt left some big shoes to fill, but it seems Brooklyn Nine-Nine has found itself a new captain.

In a season premiere that is promising all kinds of fun twists and turns, we will see Bill Hader stepping in to fill Andre Braugher’s shoes. Captain Holt was promoted in a bit of skilled manoeuvring by Holt’s archnemesis, Wuentch, at the end of last season. We knew there would be a new captain to fill his shoes, but until now, we were merely speculating on who could possibly try.

Bill Hader is being billed as a guest star, and will, so far, only appear in the season premiere according to Tvline.com. Where the precinct will go from there is a mystery that we can’t wait to solve.

Hader is probably most famous for his time on Saturday Night Live and for bringing us the beloved Stefon. While it’s unclear what kind of captain Bill Hader will be playing for us, we can only hope that his character will have half the charm Stefon had.

Why Hader will only be around for one episode is a bit of a head scratcher, as we would truly love to see him stay as long as he wants. Do you think Hader’s character will be driven out by the hijinks of the Nine-Nine? Or will Holt find a way to get back to his detectives and away from the public relations trap that Wuentch set for him? Only time will tell.

Also, check out this poster that was released a few days ago on Tvline.com that promises all kinds of fun to come in season 3.

How about that tagline? “Their unit is bigger than your unit.” Entendre aside, could we possibly see some new faces in the Nine-Nine? We wouldn’t be opposed to the idea, that’s for sure.

There are definitely some changes in store for the detectives that call Brooklyn Nine-Nine home, but we are sure that the charm and character that had us gobbling up episodes right and left in seasons 1 and 2 will be back in full force. After all, Jake will be there, so it can’t be all bad.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine will premiere Sunday September 27 at 8:30 ET/PT.
