Tonight wraps up Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2. It’s been a great season so far (the Jimmy Jab Games, anyone?), but we are anxious to see how the season finale wraps things up.

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 2 finale recap

The Nine-Nine says goodbye to an old friend… their trusty old vending machine. They say a proper goodbye before the men can wheel her away, and get a little free candy before she disappears for good.

Peralta tells Amy that he was bummed when she told him she didn’t date cops anymore. She tells him that the only reason she made the rule was to avoid awkwardness, but, when Peralta’s around, awkward is the status quo.

Holt tells Terry and Gina that Wuntch is trying to force him out of the Nine-Nine and into the PR job. Holt knows of an insulting letter that he could use as blackmail to keep Wuntch from transferring him, and he puts Terry and Gina on the task. Gina even puts her phone on airplane mode. Serious talk, that.

Boyle invites Rosa out to a bar, but when he gets the normal amount of weird, she suspects that this is a surprise party. He then goes on to stipulate a specific time and door that must be used, and it’s definitely some sort of surprise party. Rosa’s not happy.

The perp takes a lady to a restaurant before the drop, so Jake and Amy are forced to enter the restaurant to keep tabs on their suspect. In order to keep their cover, Amy tells an incredibly believable story about them being engaged and looking to celebrate.

Gina distracts a clerk so Terry can sneak into the archives and get his hands on the letter, but when he can’t get the filing cabinet open, he settles for stealing the whole cabinet.

Peralta thinks the drop is going to go down in the kitchens, so he and Santiago follow the suspect, but when he sees them, Jake plants one on Amy to keep their cover intact. It was definitely no peck on the lips, either.

Wuntch is shocked that Holt got his hands on that letter. She tells him that she can’t just cancel his promotion, and he gives her til the next day.

When Boyle asks about how it went in the restaurant, Jake tells him that he and Amy kissed and Boyle gets VERY excited. Rosa’s not impressed, she tells them to let her know when they grab each other’s butts.

ALERT! Rosa is a Gilmore Girls fan. We knew we liked her.

When Jake and Amy’s cover is almost blown again, she plants kiss number two on Jake, and then when the hand off is successful, they jump out from behind their tree and arrest the guy.

Jake presents Amy with the paperwork to sign, and in order for him to try and keep his cool and not flirt with her, he starts rambling. They mutually decide that it’s better if they don’t date right now, as neither wants anything to change.

Rosa’s surprise is that Marcus rented out an entire bar so she could celebrate her birthday in her style. It was Boyle’s idea, and he takes that as permission to call her Ro-Ro. Rosa is not happy.

Wuntch threatens to dismantle the Nine-Nine squad if he turns over the letter to their boss. In order to keep the group together, Holt tells the squad that he’s leaving. Amy is in shock and hides in the evidence locker. Jake goes to find her and plants one on her. Boyle comes to fetch Jake so they can meet their new Captain… who we don’t get to see.
